RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Dance Fees: Fees are payable from January up to and including December, and are paid in advance. They are to be paid on or before the 3rd day of every month. Fees cover all dance classes taught from the first day of the month until the last day of the month unless they are extra lessons, in which case a further fee applies, and will be detailed in the monthly invoice. These fees and payment dates/months are not negotiable at any time.

  • Extra lessons are charged when applicable. These will be detailed and included in the monthly invoice, only when applicable.

  • Absenteeism: Dancers must either phone, SMS/Whatsapp or personally inform me if they will be arriving late, leaving early or unable to attend classes.  Fees are not reduced for student absences.

  • Dress Code: Hip Hop – Tracksuits or jazz pants may be worn. Decent cross-trainer takkies must be worn. NO platform takkies or jazz shoes are allowed for Hip Hop. Modern and Tap – Jazz pants/leotards or JT tops must be worn. Tap shoes MUST be worn for tap classes. No Jazz shoes may be worn for modern. Pupils must be neat at ALL TIMES!

  • Watching: No friends, boyfriends, parents or any other person is allowed to watch dance classes. Specific watching days will be held during the year, and these will be communicated to you.

  • Behaviour: Pupils will respect their fellow dancers and teachers. All decisions made by the teacher are final. While representing Nadine’s School of Dance at an event/function, pupils will be expected to conduct themselves with proper etiquette.

  • Payment: Payment must be received by the dancing school on or before the 3rd of every month.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your membership at any time provided that you give 30 days’ notice. However, if notice is only given at the end of October, both November and December fees are still payable.

  • No Refunds: There will be no credits or refunds for classes not attended to by pupils. Should classes be cancelled by me for any reason, these will be made up at no extra cost to pupils.

  • Studio Property: The dance studio property, including the building, will be treated with respect by students and parents. Disrespectful and disruptive behaviour will not be allowed.

  • Holidays: Holidays will include all official South African public holidays, including any Saturday public holidays. There will be NO dancing on these days. (This includes spill-over Monday holidays).

  • Exams and Eisteddfod’s: Pupils that take part in Exams or Eisteddfod’s will be required to purchase costumes for both groups and solos/duets/trios etc. It is a good idea for parents to save a bit extra every month in preparation for this cost, as well as for the entry fees. It will certainly lessen the load once that time of year comes around.

  • Group Work: A reminder that GROUP work during class and at festivals/eisteddfod’s is a very important part of dancing, as it teaches pupils about teamwork and cooperation. It is very rarely that in the dancing world, dancers will perform solo’s, as most work is in groups. PLEASE allow pupils to take part and be a part of groups and not miss classes as it lets the entire team down.
